Let's face it, "deconstructed" meals are all the rage. It's a great way to pretend that our super-easy recipe is "fancy" in its own way! Joking aside, this very simple recipe will please the whole family!

Ingredients :

  • 2 cups homemade mashed potatoes (made your usual way!)
  • 2 cans of 150g salmon (or cooked salmon yourself: about 1 1/2 cups)
  • 1 small white onion
  • 1/2 cup wheat breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup baby cereal
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Preparation :

  1. Chop the onion very finely then brown in a little olive oil to soften.
  2. Cut the salmon into small pieces.
  3. Add the onion to the salmon, then mix with the mashed potatoes.
  4. Gradually add the spices, breadcrumbs and baby cereal, as well as half of the cheese, then add the egg and mix well.
  5. Place the mixture in a baking dish and add the remaining cheese on top.
  6. Bake at 400F for 15 minutes, then finish by broiling for 2 minutes to brown the cheese.

This recipe can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 5 days .

DME Specifications:

This recipe is suitable for babies from 6 months old, but it will be easier to serve to baby once cooked, refrigerated, and then reheated. The consistency will then be much firmer and it will be easier to offer it in elongated slices for baby's grasping skills!
