It's not always easy to find a compromise between sweet recipes for older children and sugar-free recipes for younger ones! Since I try to avoid cooking constantly, the strawberry and vanilla flavors seemed like a good compromise for a sweet snack I could offer my baby daughter. I can confirm, everyone loved it!

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup strawberries, thawed and mashed with a fork
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup baby cereal
  • 2 tbsp. 10% plain yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp natural vanilla essence

Preparation :

  1. Mix the flour, baby cereal and baking powder and set aside.
  2. Mix the crushed strawberries with the yogurt and vanilla essence, then gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing everything together.
  3. Shape the patties on parchment paper placed on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake at 350F for 18 to 20 minutes.

Makes about 8 pancakes.

This recipe can be stored for up to 5 days in the refrigerator and up to 3 months in the
freezer.

*Important to use thawed strawberries, as fresh strawberries do not
do not allow you to obtain the desired texture. As this recipe was designed to be given to a baby, we prefer a plain yogurt (therefore without sugar) as fat as possible, since we favor fat in the diet of toddlers!

DME Specifications:

This recipe can be served from 6 months old by cutting the cake in half and serving one half at a time.
*Beware of dairy allergens which must be introduced beforehand.

ALTERNATIVES 👇🏼

To turn this recipe into a baby-free treat, you can use vanilla yogurt instead of plain yogurt, add 3 tbsp maple syrup, and 1/4 cup white chocolate chips!
