Slow down as a family or “slow family living”!

Do you feel like you're always on the go? Between work, family, and all the obligations we face, there's often very little room left for relaxation . We're all in more or less the same situation. The Les ptits mosüs team has therefore compiled a short list of activities that will allow you to take a breather and slow down during this frantic daily race.

Disconnect from social networks
If there's one thing that takes up our time during the day, it's scrolling through our social media feeds. Let's put down our phones and take the opportunity to play a board game with our family, talk with our spouse, chat with our children, etc., while staying away from our cell phone screens! It will boost our morale and give our eyes a chance to rest for a while!

Take the time to read
Reading is soothing. It mentally removes us from our worries and daily stress, transporting us into a story that is often far removed from our own. Reading to our children is also a great way to encourage them to love books and make it a more than interesting hobby.

Go play outside
Getting a breath of fresh air feels so good! Getting a change of air in our lungs is so invigorating! Plus, getting out of the house gets the whole family moving ! Shoveling, sliding, skating, playing hockey, skiing, or just enjoying a simple walk in the woods can have incredible benefits. Indeed, exercise helps you feel better and clear your mind , stay healthy, and most importantly, enjoy the present moment .

Go on a trip
It doesn't have to be a long trip! Going away for just a weekend can help us unwind and clear our heads . Being away from home takes us away from responsibilities and allows us to enjoy life and the attractions of our chosen location even more. Getting away from it all helps us recharge and is beneficial for both children and parents!

Letting go of child supervision
As parents, we often tend to overdo it. Yes, we care about our children's success, but there's no need to motivate them every day of the year, enroll them in a ton of activities, or even make sure they achieve perfect grades in school. Let them be kids and take that social pressure off our shoulders.

The pandemic has certainly caused a slowdown. It's led us to enjoy our homes and all their little joys. Let's continue these habits to live better and more peacefully! From our family to yours, we wish you much peace and quiet!
